At the end of a big year at Inkersall Primary Academy we are looking for more governors to help shape the future of the school.
The role of governors is to ensure that the management of the school places the interest of children and parents first, and to help maintain strong links between the school and the local community.
Inkersall is a Spencer Academies Trust school, and oversight of school finances, staffing and other ‘governance’ sits with the Spencer Board of Directors.
At school level we have a ‘local governing body’ made up of parents, carers and representative members of the school community.
The local body meets approximately twice a term and works closely with Mrs Bailey to be part of all aspects of school life. Whether it’s supporting the PTA, visiting lessons to learn with the children, or supporting Inkersall in our wider relationships with organisations like Ofsted there is no such thing as a typical day in school – and no fixed idea of the person who would make a great governor.
The only thing that school governors across Spencer schools share in common is the role that we play in delivering on the trust mission: to provide an outstanding quality of education and improve the life chances of children across the East Midlands.
If you think you might have what it takes to be a governor at Inkersall please register your interest through the form below, or speak to Mrs Bailey before Monday 9 July. Mrs Bailey can be reached by email at email@example.com. Please include your name, an email address and telephone number and whether you are a parent in the school, and we will contact you to discuss the application process and volunteer checks that are a requirement for all school governors.
Before taking your application any further, we will invite you to tour the school and to attend a scheduled LGB meeting.
In addition to the chance to giving you a chance to see our current governors in action, Mrs Bailey will explain Inkersall’s priorities in the wake of our 2018 Ofsted report, and share our exciting plans for school and pupils.
